Bessie Smith

Bessie Smith serves as First Vice President for the Branch. She has been an active member of the NAACP for over 50 years and has served every President of the DuPage County Branch. Bessie diligently works toward the Branch's success. Bessie makes the most of every opportunity to advocate for the organization by never leaving home without a membership application. Bessie started her career in DuPage County as a seamstress for the Lillie Rubin & Taylor Company in Oak Brook, Illinois.
