Robert Mathis

Robert Mathis is a Subscribing Life Member of the NAACP, serves as the Branch Treasurer, and member of the Health Committee. Robert is now a retired public health professional. He received his Masters Degree from the School of Public Health at the University of Illinois, Chicago and was the first African American appointed as Director of Public Health for the Village of Oak Park. Robert also retired from Triton Community College where he served as adjunct professor in the Hospitality Department and Employee Development Institute. He welcomes the opportunity to serve the NAACP, an organization that has dedicated itself to the full measure of citizenship and opportunity for generations of African Americans. Core Responsibilities
1. Ensure Ethics with branch financials
2. Manage the relationship with the bank and handle communications
3. Make recommendations to the executive committee on financial matters
4. Management of Travel policy, check book & register, and financial documentation in a systematic way ensuring ease of retrieving information
5. Create or recommend contracts ⁄ agreements
6. Complete monthly treasurers report for Executive committee and work with President to share relevant information for monthly branch meetings
7. Mailbox Pick-up
