Margret Childress

Margret Childress is a Subscribing Life Member of the NAACP. Her desire to serve the community prompted her to join the organization. Margret is a member of the Executive Committee of the DuPage County Branch of the NAACP in Illinois. Margret has contributed her time and efforts to several civic and social organizations and also serves on the prison ministry at her church. She works in the purchasing department at a major electronics company where she has been employed for 34 years.
Marvin Byrd

Marvin Byrd is a Life Member of the NAACP and an Executive Committee Member-at-Large. He is a past president of the Kane County Branch and the DuPage County Branch of the NAACP. He is a former Chairman of the Labor and Industry Committee for the Illinois State Conference of NAACP branches. He retired from the US Dept. of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training, with duties of monitoring registered programs as it relates to compliance. Marvin is assisting the DuPage County Branch jurisdiction in making equal opportunity a reality.
Toby Fox

Toby Fox is a Member at Large on the Executive Committee. Her goal is to be of service in establishing equality between all people. Toby has been an NAACP member for the last four years. Currently retired, she has worked extensively with seniors at an assisted living facility. With her husband John, they have six children and nine grandchildren between them. They attend religious gatherings of all denominations as everyone is of value as are the people. She loves the NAACP for its purpose, fellowship, solidarity and tenacity. They live in Wheaton, Illinois.
Joy Bowling

Joy C. Bowling is a Life Member of the NAACP, serving on the Educational and Membership Committees. Joy is recently retired as an Adjunct Professor from the College of DuPage (10 years) and AT&T Bell Laboratories (20 years). Having served on many boards, Joy is an advocate for all children to receive a quality education in public schools and to have diverse representation. Joy is a member of Alpa Kappa Alpha Lambda Alpha Omega Sorority, Inc. She is currently working part-time as a Substitute Teacher, Voter Registrar and Election Judge in Kendall County. Joy is married to Clarence Bowling, with two daughters who graduated from Historically Black Colleges, and one granddaughter. Joy has recently been named as a Trustee at Gayles Memorial Baptist Church.
Lavon Thomas

Lavon Thomas serves on the Executive Committee at Large. He is also a board member for another not-for-profit, and was honored in 2010 for working with victims of domestic violence as well as being a mentor to at risk youth. Lavon is an Operation Manager for the Audit Bureau of Circulation. Lavon is currently in Washington DC as a Presidential Management fellow on a special project., and keeps his allegiance to the branch.
